Speaker Bio:
Maureen Lancaster is Senior Lecturer in Food Technology at the University of Lincoln, National Centre of Food Manufacture (NCFM, Holbeach).
She graduated in 1988 from The Queen’s College Glasgow with a Batchelor of Arts in Home Economics.
Her key expertise is in new product development having worked for several top food brands and she has extensive experience of presenting new concepts to the major multiple retailers. She also has marketing and new media experience gained at Silver Spoon sugar where she developed an online consumer community in the home baking sector called ‘Baking Mad’. It became the leading home baking site within months of its launch.
Her sector experience spans bakery, confectionery, ambient soup, sauces jams & pickles, fresh, frozen and pet sectors and although she has had responsibility for developing some of Britain’s most iconic brands she is equally comfortable in the private label world.
At NCFM, Maureen teaches a broad range of subjects from the principles of New Product Development and Product Innovation Through Packaging, to Food Safety. She also carries out industry collaborative projects as part of the University’s outreach programme. -
