  Speaker Bio:

  Over the last decade, John has worked in at UK universities in Bristol, Cardiff and latterly Huddersfield. His research and teaching in this period has focused on sustainable communities and many aspects of the global food system, including farm animal welfare, halal and kosher meat markets and local food systems. He is joint author of the recently published book from Routledge: Halal Matters: Islam, politics and markets in global perspective (2015).
